Flower / seed tuft about 8" long. Grass grows 6 feet tall.

Sorghum Sudan Hybrid Sorghum sudanense
Long thin leaves spiral up a stiff cane that can grow 12 feet tall. Seed head 6-12" tall. Excellent cow fodder.

Sorghum (Milo) Sorghum vulgare (Sorghum bicolor)
Long wide leaves attach closely & opposite up a stiff cane that can grow over 6 feet tall. Seed head 12" tall. Excellent cow fodder but young plants and damaged plants are poisonous and should not be consumed.

This may not be in the Sorghum group but it is similar to a Johnsongrass with fat spikelets. Leaf mid vein is white. Green spikelets are fatter and a few near the branch end have awns.
