Purple Bindweed) Ipomoea cordatotriloba (Ipomoea trichocarpa)
This plant's species name has changed from the one mentioned in most guide books.
Flower 1"-2" wide, deep purple/rose color with dark center. Flowers
open at sun rise and close at midday. Climbing vine grows from a
tuberous root. Stems can reach 15 feet long. Leaves have
three lobes and vary in size up to 4" long (they can also be a pinched heart
shape).
