This plant's Genus name has changed from the one mentioned in most guide books.
Flower is about 3/8" wide and 1" long. Leaves shown are about 3/8" long but are longer closer to the plant base. Climbing vine where the leafstalk bends around.

Krameriaceae - Rhatany family
Prairie Sandbur (Ratany, Crameria) Krameria lanceolata
Flower about 3/4" wide. The "petals" are actually bracts. The real petals are the two small red lobes and the three fused vertical structure. The plant is a trailing vine grows up to 2 feet long.
