Flower about 1 1/2" wide. Translucency make these flowers glow.

Prickly Lettuce Lactuca serriola
Flower about 1/2" wide. Plant grows 4-5 feet tall with 1/2" thick
main stems. Leaves are 3-4" long, spiny rib, and grow
on the main stem only. Flowering stems have tiny leaves but
generally look dead. Stems are stiff but not woody.
This plant is the closest wild relative of cultivated lettuce.
