Fuzzy Flowers - Dalea
Fabaceae (Leguminosae) - Legume family
Plume Dalea (Nineanther Prairie Clover) Dalea enneandra
Flower spike about 4" long with flowers about 1/4" long. The base of
each flower are feathery. One to three smooth stems have multiple
braches at the top. Leaves are about 1" long. Plant grows
3-5 feet tall. These plants make a good broom when bundled.
Indians used the a cactus thorn attached to these straight stems as
arrows to hunt small game.
