There are many Sisyrinchium species in Texas. Most are blue, but some have yellow or white petals.
Note: some names are misleading as these plants are not grass nor do they have blue eyes.
The species names may have changed several times from ones mentioned in guide books.

Bermuda Blue-eyed Grass Sisyrinchium angustifolium
Flower about 5/8" wide with a long, flat, winged stem; wings are wide. One to several flowers that close at night or in cloudy weather. Plants grows 8"-12" tall.
