Purple Sage (Texas Barometer Bush) Leucophyllum frutescens
Bush 5-8 feet tall with fuzzy gray/green leaves. Flowers about 1" wide and
blooms after rains throughout the summer. Lavender flowers are fuzzy.
Slow-growing, drought-tolerant. This plant has many cultivated varieties.

Fendler's Beardtongue (Fendler's Penstemon) Penstemon fendleri
Flower about 1" long along the sides of the spike. The common name describes the fuzzy, orange "tongue". Plant grows 12"-18" tall. Ovate leaves reduce in size as they ascend.
