Cottontail: There are 16 species, all native to the America's.  Rabbits are born blind and hairless.  Most dig burrows and live in communities.

Jackrabbit (hare): There are many species of American hares.  None are domesticated.  They do not live in communities or dig burrows.  Their babies are born with hair and open eyed so can run soon after being born.
