Vultures
order Cathartiformes - family Cathartidae ("New World" Vulture)
Turkey Vulture Cathartes aura
This big black bird eats carrion and loves road kill. They hunt and glide solitary but roost together, sometimes in large groups. If they are on the ground that does not mean there is a dead animal. They just like to have meetings.
